It’s a difficult word to spell but manoeuvre effects in game are fairly straight forward and bring a real element of the Tactical JRPG straight to the tabletop. Simply put it is your Hero’s position in relation to their opponent and the benefits or negative effects that this relationship gives you.

For example, a back attack from an elevated position is always your preferred angle of attack as it gives you the most bonuses and will surely see you finish off your target quickly, whilst attacking front on up hill is almost always going to result in failure.

On that same note, always be cautious about your placement and try to prevent your opponents having access to your back if it is at all possible!

The scenario pictured above shows Kurado in a precarious position with Hector ready to attack from the side and Lisara poised for a back attack. Viktoria also has the high ground advantage and also has a rear shot at Hector, so he could be in real trouble in her next activation!
