🔮 Crystal Collapse – February Update
Cards, terrain, and rulebooks — a lot has been happening behind the scenes at Lion Tower, and many things are getting close to completion. So welcome everyone to a brand-new update for Crystal Collapse!
Yes, we know the last update was a while ago, and we appreciate your patience. As you may know, Lion Tower is a two-person studio — Daniel and myself — so sometimes things take a little longer than planned. But rest assured: we work on Crystal Collapse every single day with full passion 💙
In today’s update:
- Finalization of the cards (with vote on card backs)
- Paper terrain for the core box
- Rulebook translation
- Character spotlight: Judge Galbola
- Late Pledge closing
🃏 Finalisation of the Cards
Over the last months, most of my work went into preparing files for print — a very time-consuming and demanding process. But we are now nearing completion of one of the core pillars of the game: the cards!
Our Skill and Fate cards are finished and currently with LongPack for review.

For the decks themselves, we decided to move away from the classic poker card style and toward a more unique format. While the idea of also being able to play poker with them was fun, usability in Crystal Collapse clearly comes first.

This became especially important with the God Cards. These are represented by King, Queen, Jack, Ace, and Joker. Playing these cards summons the respective patron god and grants you their power. These summons are one of the most fundamental tactics in Crystal Collapse and can decide victory or defeat.
That’s why all cards feature not only full artwork but also a small text field, so you always know when and how to use them. We’re also happy to confirm that these will be foil cards, turning them into true shimmering treasures in your hands ✨

One thing we still can’t fully agree on is the card back design. We’ve decided to include a blue and a red deck in the box to make player decks easier to distinguish — but we can’t decide which back design to use.
So once again, we’d love your input:
We’re very excited to see which version you choose!
🌲 Paper Terrain for the Core Box
Alex has also been hard at work and spent the last days developing paper terrain for the core box. There will be trees and rocks you can place directly onto the battlefield.
As you know, the included game board and elevation tiles are double-sided: grasslands on one side and crystal mines on the other. This means that even with just the core box contents, you’ll be able to create many different locations from the world of Crystal Collapse.

For those who want something more premium, be sure to check out our STL offerings. There are already many print-optimized files to customize your own Crystal Collapse battlefield. Or take a look at our good friends and partners at Forgemaster Miniatures, who offer colorful, ready-to-use terrain straight out of the box.

📖 Rulebook Translation
We’re happy to report that the rulebook is now complete and fully translated into English. Over the next few days, we’ll do another proofreading pass to catch every last error — because we want you to have the best possible version of Crystal Collapse in your hands.

The rulebook has also been expanded with many new chapters, including Team Play, Solo Play, and a Hobby section. We’ll go into more detail in the next update and will also provide the finished rulebook as a preview download — just a little bit longer to go.
⚔️ Character Spotlight: Judge Galbola
Terrain wasn’t the only thing Alex worked on. While we’re saddened that Nam left the team and that app development has been delayed, that hasn’t stopped us from pushing forward.
Daniel and I agreed to focus on completing the narrative arc of our next release, The Escape from Oldeburg, and with that, it’s my great pleasure to introduce Judge Galbola.

The Judges are mysterious magical armours that house the power of eternity. They are often described as the true rulers of Valeria. Though they usually remain distant from mortal affairs, the rare moments when they intervene are world-shaking events.
We’re excited to see how your encounter with Judge Galbola, Guardian of Vaaland, will unfold.
⏳ Late Pledge Closing
Finally, we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your trust and support over the past years — from our preorder days to the Gamefound campaign. Thanks to you, we’ve already achieved so much. Your support is the key to everything we do ❤️
We’re especially excited that we’re slowly reaching the end of this journey — which at the same time marks the beginning of an even bigger adventure: the full release of Crystal Collapse.

🚨 Important: The Late Pledge will close in mid-February, and this is your last chance to jump in at campaign prices. If you’ve been waiting, now’s the moment — grab your copy while you still can!
🎃 Cassandra in the Pledge Manager (Limited Stock!)
Many of you have already purchased our Halloween miniature Cassandra and will already have sampled the quality that you’ll be expecting from the rest of the game. We’ve had a few requests for Cassandra to be shipped along with the Crystal Collapse game orders, and to make sure we don’t end up forgetting, we’re adding the remaining copies of her to the Pledge Manager. Those of you that want Acrylic Standees, you haven’t been forgotten and we’ll be sorting out a character pack for the extra models once we’ve got delivery of the game out of the way.
There are fewer than 20 copies of Cassandra remaining, and once she’s gone, she’s gone for good!

Thank you so much for your time — we’re heading straight back to work 💪
