Each character has a profile card which contains all the important information you need to use them in the game, including their statistics and their abilities. Each character has one passive ability and one action ability. it also contains information such as which suit they represent in game, the faction they belong to and the class of the character, not to mention the beautiful character artwork!

On the Cards you’ll find the following information:
In the top left corner is the Faction symbol to which that character belongs, along with the character’s name next to it.
In the middle of the card we have the Hero’s Active Ability and Passive Ability . Next to that is a lovely illustration (by the very talented Alexandro Oukino) and behind the illustration you’ll see a blurred out symbol from a card deck, which shows which suit they represent (and consequently which role they fulfil in game).
At the bottom of the card we have the character stats, which running from left to right are as follows:
- Health – how many hit points a character can take before they are removed as a casualty
- Movement – how many squares a character may move for a movement action.
- Attack – there are 3 attack types; melee, ranged and magic represented by the symbols sword, bow and staff respectively. The first number is the attack value and the second is the attack range. You’ll need to roll under your attack value in order to hit your target – don’t worry though, we’ll be adding playing card values to it before we roll!
- The next symbol is a D20 and shows the hero’s Attack Dice Pool – i.e. how many dice they can throw when performing an attack action.
- The final symbol is the hero’s Defence value. The first value is used against physical attacks (melee and ranged) and the second is used against magical attacks. This value is deducted from your opponent’s attack of the corresponding type.
The Final thing on the card is the little character sprite in the bottom right which shows which Hero’s class – it doesn’t really play too big a part at the moment but we’ve added it for future updates…intrigued?! You should be!!
Oh, and there’s also a border and backgrounds etc if you want to get technical but that’s just set dressing and isn’t important in game terms (other than making it all look pretty!)
