Targeting

Targeting in Crystal Collapse is simply the process of establishing whether your target is viable or not and then declaring them the subject of your action (i.e. an attack). There are a number of criteria you’ll need to check but they’re all pretty straight forward.

Can you see the target and are you in range? Check the second number on your attack stat on your profile card, and that is your attack range, For ranged attacks, For each square of range that you are from your target, your target “cone” widens out by 2 squares . The square immediately in front of your hero is just a single square, then the next one expands out to 3 squares wide, then the next is 5 squares, and the next is 7. This represents your field of vision.

Obstructing terrain (e.g. a tree)doesn’t block line of sight but blocking terrain (e.g. a rocky outcrop, hill or cottage of at least H2/40mm in height) does.

As long as your target is inside of your cone, then you may attack them. If you can draw line of sight to at least one edge of your target’s field, then you may attack them. If you can reach multiple edges, you may choose which side you will attack to maximise your advantage.
